once again, time to sound out some thoughts...

i thought i was gg to take cfa after passing the 1st level, but i finally rationalized it in me to find that i didn't need to validate myself by taking level 2 and 3 and be termed a certified financial analyst.. after all, if u really knew ur stocks/bonds/derivatives very well, why would u need to be "certified" by someone else, haven't we gone through enough exams/tests/academic rigour to certify ourselves, don't 2+6+4+2+4 = 18 years of education count for anything... so since it wasn't a step forward for my career, i really identified taking a cfa as another validation, a proof that i, like thousands out there, could isolate myself, devoid of social life, but upon further questioning, it was just plain lame. the only proof is in the results, and guess the process of forming one's own portfolio by "trial and error" would be more exciting, and real than just theorizing. so until i need the validation for others and not myself, i dun think i would devoid myself of entertainment and fun. life's too short to do that.

and then there's further education, beyond undergraduate studies, again, it's fairly tempting to embark on such a journey of self discovery... and i guess i won't rule out taking this option one day. but realistically, i'm discovering more abt myself everyday, how my thoughts are shaped, even though my values (i think) are still intact. so if i'm earning and still learning more about myself/people around me/the world, wouldn't that be the best of both worlds. i do rmr the screwed up times as a not-so-well-off student...

last point to make, after taking up tennis and golf, and running the marathon, i will learn 1 musical instrument to keep up the fun element.
