drove up to genting over the weekend and learnt a great deal... or maybe i'll commit the same mistakes. but i hope to generate enough discipline not to be carried away...so here goes the story.

on a suggestion by a friend, i entered the international room and converted my membership. to my amazement, the minimum bets were 100rm. previous trips, i had only played on min 50 rm tables and was content with playing double of that, so max 100rm. somehow things were going to be different as my risk appetite grew... 100 become 200... and it became 900rm.

by then, i was hitting 9k rm. and soon enough after a few more 3 x 300rm hands. i was up over 10k. feeling tired, i went back to the hotel suite and felt great about my win. after all, i never held a 10k chip in my hands before...

i woke up with a flu, and as fate had it, went back again.. this time round, the losses struck hard. by 8.36pm. i was washed out. i had breach a few basic rules i had set on my previous trips. but then again, i never knew how to handle a more than three/four fold win. it was a rush that drained me emotionally. in one hand, there was 1600rm for four hands, 400 each. the banker hit 21... and that was that. back to the room again, this time round i slept real well. woke up drove back to sg... somehow feeling more at ease, even though i lost my capital.

i blog about this so that the next time if i go back i will read this and refresh my memory. so these are the things i would do:

1) set a profit taking limit (i.e. cash out!!) given my track record, aim for a 2 fold return
2) set a loss taking limit (i.e. cash out!!) aim for a 1 fold return from winning
3) when u feel emotionally low / tired and sleepy / hungry ... take a break first !!

yup. be a winner. a small investment now for better returns!
